IGNITE Youth Worship Arts Ministry

IGNITE (In God, Nothing Is Too Extreme) is the PVUMC Worship Arts Ministry for youth, led by P.J. Bolduc.
IGNITE is open to all youth in grades 6-12 who would like to use the performing arts (singing, instruments, dance, and drama) as a way to worship and to minister to others, but you do not have to be a great singer, play an instrument, dance, or act to be part of this ministry.  IGNITE is about passing the flame of Christ to others who need it most, and having fun in the process!

Rehearsals are held every Sunday night in the Sanctuary from 5-6, right before Breakout
.

Each summer, IGNITE goes on a Music in Missions trip to present a musical to homeless shelters, nursing homes, children’s homes, and to other folks who are hungry for the message of Jesus Christ. A highlight of last year’s trip was having the opportunity to present a portion of their musical at the NCCUMC Annual Conference at the Raleigh Civic Center. Past trips include Williamsburg, VA; Orlando, FL; Washington, DC; Asheville, NC; and Hershey/Harrisburg, PA. This summer, IGNITE will travel to Atlanta, GA on June 11-15.

GLOW Ministry

GLOW ministry is a novel worship art form - black light hand mime – in which black lights and white gloves are used to create images and words set to Christian music. The group was formed in the fall of 2007. Since then, the group, which is an acronym for God Lights Our World,  has performed at various churches and for numerous events including the Harmony for Humanity concert in Wilmington, Pilgrimage and the UMW Annual Conference in Fayetteville, the Rockingham District Lay Celebration in Laurinburg, and at SonPower National Youth Choir Conference in Orlando.
